The FoCE conference has a focus on election reform and its potential impact on communities across the state. It is an opportunity for policymakers, researchers and advocates to learn about how the state and communities can implement the many great reforms and improvements identified over the last few years to expand California's democracy.
All members of the public are invited to attend this free hearing. We are holding this meeting to receive feedback from
you about these recommendations and to engage key local and regional
stakeholders and opinion leaders in the conversation about access to quality
civic learning in your area.
We're thrilled that twice in March Kim Klein will collaborate with local Leagues to present full day regional workshops, giving members and members of the public who are active in the non-profit sector the tools they need to advocate for funding for the common good and to discuss the role of taxes in providing services essential for the common good.

The LWVC signed on to a letter to the executive director of Covered California, the state's health benefit exchange that implements the federal Affordable Care Act in California. We urged the integration of voter registration into the Covered California application process, as required by the National Voter Registration Act. Read the letter here.

California Elections (FOCE) to develop a Best
Practices Manual for Official Voter Information Guides and we need your
help. We're collecting California voter
information materials in print and online formats.
When the legislature reconvenes in January, our bills to shine a light on money in California elections will come up for a floor vote. Take action now by contacting your Assembly Members to vote YES on SB 2 and SB 27!
