Sacramento County has implemented a new voting process where a voter can come to the county election office, request a ballot and have the ballot printed on the spot. This new early voting system could potentially save the County thousands of dollars by avoiding pre-printing thousands of ballots used in the early voting period. The new system of ballot-on demand could be used to eatablish county-wide voting centers able to serve voters from all precincts. This innovative idea may make early voting more accessible and less expensive to operate.
