Our coalition submits more than 1.7 million signatures of support and our initiative will now qualify for the November 2020 ballot

Voters side with the League on rejection of Prop 3

In a sign of how modest expectations have become of Californians actually casting ballots, elections officials and advocates alike found relief Monday in the final tally showing 37% of voters cast ballots in June — small compared with total registration but the highest for a nonpresidential primary since 1998.

We need your help. For months, we’ve witnessed growing anti-government rhetoric in the media and in our public discourse.  Accusations of “rigged elections” and “inherent corruption in our political process” have become commonplace. For many, memes have replaced journalism and threats and insults have replaced political debate.   

We joined many organizations and allies in calling on the first 8 commissioners to address this dramatic and unacceptable underrepresentation when they select the next 6 commissioners. All communities must see themselves in this Commission.
