Most of his coursework has focused on the intersection of beliefs and ethics, he is also passionate about government. During his internship at the League, Wesley will be developing toolkits and educational materials for use by local Leagues in areas like public financing of campaigns, voting accessibility and voter engagement, or local redistricting. He will also be working on implementation of the new vote center model of elections; and research into ways to streamline disclosure requirements of the state Political Reform Act as well as testifying on League legislation.

On campus, Wesley works as a research assistant and project manager for the Rose Institute of State and Local Government. He has led  projects investigating the use of body cameras by police officers, trends in criminal sentencing and punishment, and local election attitudes regarding ballot security and access. In addition, he interviews speakers that come to campus for the Free Food 4 Thought podcast and next year, he will be one of two Woolley Fellows at the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum, an on campus venue that hosts speakers and thought leaders four nights a week.
