The League of Women Voters of Monterey Count will present a free talk titled:  TheEqual Rights Amendment - The Centennial and the Big Picture” at a live-streamed "Lunch and Learn" Meeting on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.We will celebrate the Centennial of the ERA with this presentation by Zoe Nicholson.  It is a virtual, live program of information about the ERA- what it says, who wrote it and what it would do. In even numbered years, the League of Women Voters holds their national convention. Each League member has the opportunity to influence the selection of issues on which the national League will focus time, talent, and money. We are working to ensure that our Long Beach Area membership is aware of the current national positions. "What's on Your March 2024 Ballot?" with Jodi BalmaJodi Balma started her career as a professor of political science at Fullerton College in 2000.  Her goal is to help students learn how to think about politics and community problems with an emphasis on critical thinking and analysis, regardless of political party or ideology. She is actively involved in the League of Women Voters of North Orange County and frequently hosts local candidate forums throughout North Orange County each election cycle.

On Tuesday, January 30, at 7 PM, we will gather at Carpaccio Restaurant in Menlo Park for light refreshments while we discuss our League's annual Program Planning—the heart of our League work.
