WHY VOTE? VIDEO CONTEST
November 2, 2010 General Election
Sacramento – Win up to $500! Have your work shown on statewide television.
“Why Vote?” is looking for30-second videos to be used as Public Service Announcements that talk about the importance of voting in the November 2, 2010 California Election. Partisan videos about a specific candidate, political party, or position will not be accepted. The League of Women Voters of California Education Fund, the Foundation for California Community Colleges, and the Student Senate for California Community Colleges have joined together to sponsor a student video contest on why it is important to vote. The first place winner will receive a prize of $500, have their video shown on CalChannel, submitted to Time Warner, Comcast, and Headline News, embedded in the Easy Voter Guide Project website and shown at the League of Women Voters of California annual convention. This contest is open to all currently enrolled students in California’s community colleges.
Submission Dates: Now through 9:00 am October 15, 2010
Voting Dates: October 18, 2010 through 9:00 am October 20, 2010. Anyone can vote!!
Winners announced: Wednesday, October 21, 2010

The Easy Voter Guide Project is partnering with public libraries, county elections offices, high schools, community colleges, adult schools, churches, and others to distribute Easy Voter Guide booklets in five languages for the upcoming election.
