LWV/BC Member Conversation about Criminal JusticeOur League’s Criminal Justice Working Group will hold a membership conversation on April 24th at 6:30 at First Baptist Church (850 Palmetto).  The agenda includes a review of the state positions on CJ & immigration, updates on AB 1185 (allowing civilian oversight of Sheriff’s department), the recent jail visit, and the group’s conversation with Sheriff Honea.   This membership conversation will guide the committee to create public education or advocacy programming for the following calendar year.  Thanks to Margaret Swick for her leadership on this important issue.
