Taking a Look at the Courts: Join the Discussion With the President constantly testing the limits of executive power and the ability of judges to stop him, plus threats to impeach judges, the need for clarity on the proper role of the federal courts and the principles that should guide them are painfully obvious. Federal Judicial Study: Discussion and Consensus Meeting, Tuesday, April 1, 6pm This Zoom meeting is part of the U.S. League’s Study of the Federal Judiciary. The LWVUS is supporting everyday people nationwide in coming together April 5th for a mass activation for the pro-democracy movement. The agenda includes a review of the state positions on CJ & immigration, updates on AB 1185 (allowing civilian oversight of Sheriff’s department), the recent jail visit, and the group’s conversation with Sheriff Honea. This membership conversation will guide the committee to create public education or advocacy programming for the following calendar year.
