Restorative Justice: What It Is and How It Works in Monterey County

The League of Women Voters of Monterey County will present a free talk titled: "Restorative Justice: What It Is and How It Works in Monterey County" at an in-person "Lunch and Learn" Meeting on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.Restorative Justice is an alternative approach to justice focused on repairing harm to victims. Proponents contend that the process produces a high rate of victim satisfaction, true accountability by offenders, and reduced recidivism.

De-Polarizing Political Conversations

The Nevada County chapters of the League of Women Voters, American Association of University Women (AAUW), and Business and Professional Women (BPW) have joined forces to present "De-Polarizing Political Conversations" with the help of Braver Angels, a national organization whose mission is to bridge the divide between conservatives and progressives.Two Braver Angels representatives - one who identifies as conservative and one who identifies as a progressive - will teach tools and techniques for having a civil conversation with someone you don't agree with politically.
