LWVBC NATURAL RESOURCE COMMITTEE’s 3RD WATER PROGRAMONLINE on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 3RD AT 7:00 P.M.Presentation Recording Coming Soon  Butte County faces critical issues related to everyone’s access to water.Join our panel of experts who represent urban water distribution, large-scale landscape irrigation systems, and neighborhood habitat programs.  They will share their current actions, their plans, and tips for audience members.The Speakers:Evan Markey is the District Manager, Chico, California Water Services “Cal Water”).  He served as Conservation Coordinator for Cal Water in 2015-2016.  

We will be reading and discussing "The Personal Librarian" by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray. Lois Smith will be leading the discussion.

The League of Women Voters of Monterey County will present a free talk titled: "Monterey County's Cannabis Industry - Up In Smoke" at a live-streamed General Meeting at noon on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.The  Monterey County Civil Grand Jury provides oversight to ensure that efficient and honest government is operating in the best interest of the people. This year the Grand Jury released a report outlining multiple examples of regulatory dysfunction in the county’s cannabis industry oversight, accounting and economic tracking.

On Tuesday, November 15 at 6:00, we will meet by Zoom for a discussion of water. Geri Moriskey has been working as a member of Grass Roots Institute’s Water and Climate teams. She will lead the presentation and discussion about the multiple issues around water and what is already being done locally that we can get involved in.

Behavioral Health includes mental health and substance abuse disorders. Susan L Holt, LMFT will share her goals, priorities, and concerns. Light refreshments will be served. No charge for members and guests

Shasta County Adult/Children's Services Branch Director, Miguel Rodriguez LCSW, and Monteca Zumalt, LMFT, Mental Services Clinical Division Chief, will be our guest speakers.
