“Managing Our Waste - From Trash to Treasure”  - Panelists: Kristin O’Hara, Communications and Education Manager, from Monterey Regional Waste Management District, Janna Faulk, Recycling Coordinator, from the Salinas Valley Recycles (Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority)Are you curious about composting?  The LWV of Palo Alto is hosting an upcoming Zoom event "The Road to Democracy Runs Through the Classroom : Preparing the Next Generations of Voters to be Engaged Citizens".  Jennifer DiBrienza and Susie Richardson will explore civic education in the Palo Alto schools and the essential link between what happens in our classrooms and what happens to our democracy.

The Valley Book Club will meet via Zoom. We will discuss the book The Soul of America: The Battle for Our Better Angels by Jon Meacham. Addressing Student Mental Health During the PandemicDear Friend,I'm reaching out to invite you and your family to an important virtual town hall about student mental health.The COVID-19 pandemic has presented many challenges to students, educators, and parents. Children have been especially vulnerable as we all grappled with the broad impacts of school closures and re-openings, physical distancing and social isolation, family loss or instability, and other unexpected changes.To help navigate these challenges, I'll be hosting a town hall on Wednesday, March 30, at 4:00 p.m.

Location: LACC campus in the Student Union at 855 N. Vermont Ave.Parking is free in Lot 4 off of North Heliotrope Drive, and the campus is also accessible via mass transit.
