Dr. Jean Reith Schroedel is a Research Fellow and Professor of Political Science at Claremont Graduate University.  She is the author of "Voting in Indian Country" and will discuss the inequities and challenges on- and off-reservations. Her past books include, "Evangelicals and Democracy in America: Religion and Politics," "Is the Fetus a Person? A Comparison of Policies Across the Fifty States," "Congress, the President and Policymaking: A Historical Analysis" and "Alone in a Crowd: Women in the Trades Tell Their Stories" Cost is $28.

STATE PROGRAM PLANNING MEETING

Our Santa Cruz County League will meet to discuss proposals for the California State League’s program on Wednesday, January 25 from 1 to 3 pm. This meeting will be held in person at the home of Sandy Warren in Santa Cruz, and is open to all LWVSCC members. All About the Parks -- (Measure P)

All About the Parks! Hear about Measure P from Aaron Aguirre, Director of PARCS - Parksm After School Recreation and Community Services. In addition, Kimberly McCoy, Board Chair for PARCS will speak. The PARS board is tasked with helping the city provide transparency and accountability to voters while ensuring proper planning and budget of Measure P funds.
